
THE MAX LIFE™ PROCESS
The MAX LIFE process applies weld-embedded tungsten carbide onto wear parts, creating the toughest, most economical, and longest-lasting tools available. MAX LIFE hard facing is cost-effective and years of rigorous field tests consistently show that the useful life of wear parts is extended many times over, depending on the application.
MAX LIFE tungsten carbide is currently applied to Bourgault Tillage Tools scrapers, harrow tines, cultivator sweeps and spikes, threshing pins, power hiller tines, wear tips, and weldable wear strips.

Heat applied tungsten carbide has been added to the underside of this quick-change spike. The spike is 2” (50mm) wide, 5/8” (15mm) thick and 9” (230mm) long. It has a hardened wear pad (52-56 HRC) for extra life. This spike is ideal for primary tillage or banding fertilizer.

Heat applied tungsten carbide has been added to the nose of this quick change spike. This spike is 5/8″ (57mm) x 2-1/4″ (57mm) wide x 6″ (150mm) long. It has a hardened wear pad for extra life. This tool is ideal for primary tillage or banding fertilizer.

Heat applied tungsten carbide has been added to the underside of this cultivator sweep. The sweep is 1/4” (6mm) thick and 4” (100mm) wide. It is designed mainly for primary tillage or banding fertilizer. The nose on this cultivator sweep runs 1/2” (12mm) lower than the other 200 Series sweeps. This increased pitch improves penetration in hard or compacted ground.

Heat applied tungsten carbide has been added to the underside of this cultivator sweep. The sweep has a 3/8” x 2″ hardened wear pad (52-56 HRC) for longer life. This cultivator sweep runs at a 13° pitch, which is steeper than the regular 410 sweeps.
